Conditions of Entry
1. To be eligible, entries must be received by the due deadline
and meet all the requirements specified in 'How to
Enter', i.e. Online Entry Form, Entry Fee, Professional
Colour images, Plans and Project Description.
2. If your project is chosen as a winner of a Local Architecture
Award by the local jury you will be contacted and asked to submit
two CDs containing your professional high-res images and plans to
the Awards Secretariat. These will be specifically used for media
purposes and can not be used to update previous
images submitted during the entry stage.
3. There is no need to have the client's permission to submit a
project. However please note that ALL entries into the awards will
be placed onto the NZIA website and this is based on the assumption
that we have permission to do so. If you do NOT want your entry
placed on the website you must contact the Awards
Secretariat at awards@nzia.co.nz
at the time of entry to inform us. If your project is awarded
a Local Architecture Award, you will be contacted and asked to
obtain client permission to have the submitted project published as
part of the Awards media programme.
4. It is the NZIA Practice that receives the award, therefore,
the entry must come from that practice. An NZIA Architect who
leaves an NZIA Practice cannot later claim an award for a project
that was initiated while with the former practice, without the
written permission of that NZIA Practice.
5. Joint Venture or In Association projects can be entered but
the entrant must clearly state who the authors of the project are
as follows;
- This project is a joint venture between X Practice and Y
Practice; or
- This project is by X Practice with Y Practice in
association.
Overseas practice partners must be members of their Institute
and that Institute must be a member of the UIA. These Institutes
include, e.g. RAIA, AIA, RIBA.
By submitting your entry the NZIA understands that the NZIA
Practice has ensured the above conditions are satisfied.
If you have any queries regarding JV projects, please contact
the NZIA Awards Secretariat at awards@nzia.co.nz.
6. Projects must have reached practical completion and, in all
other respects, be complete to the point of enabling a proper
assessment by the jury. Projects that are not complete will not,
under normal circumstances, be considered for an Award.
7 Projects that have already received a Local Award may be
submitted on one other occasion for consideration for a New Zealand
Architecture Award. These projects must be re-entered using the
online form making sure that they are submitted as a "RESUBMISSION
of a Local Award winner to New Zealand Award level" under the
'Project Details'. Please include the year in which the project was
a Local Award winner.
8. Jury members and their practices may not enter the Local
Awards in the branch in which they are judging.
